Is the stereo in my Mini a Wave or Boost?

In the UK, wave is standard, Boost optional, In the USA Boost is standard. HK is optional in both countries
Wave comes in cassette only, Boost comes in Cassette, CD or MD.
Therefore if you have CD or MD you have Boost. The 2 cassette units are shown below

Can I change the stereo?

Yes, very easily. You will need a harness adaptor, facia adaptor & aerial adaptor. The type of harness adaptor will depend on which stereo your Mini came with (see above). These 3 items are available as a kit CLICK HERE

If I have the HK system am I stuck with the standard stereo?

Not any longer. We now have a HK interface available which is plug & play & will allow aftermarket stereos to work with the HK amp & speakers. Click here

Do I have CD prep?

Look in the boot behind the right cubby hole cover, It will be 2 small plugs, a 3 pin & a 6 pin taped to one of the main looms

Can I still use the MFSW if I change the stereo?

Can I swap my Wave stereo for a Boost?

Yes, but you will need some adaptors see CLICK HERE

What CD changers can I plug into the cd prep cable?

Only Mini or BMW changers will plug directly in. But if you use a plug & play interface you can plug in Sony or Kenwood CD changers or Sony MP3 changer.

Can I use an aftermarket stereo with the factory changer?

No

Can I change the stereo if my Mini has navigation?

Yes, using our navigation interface allows you to keep the navigation voice with aftermarket stereos. Does not work in HK equiped Minis

Can I fit Clear rear lights to an 05 spec Mini?

Yes with a slight modification. We can supply them ready modified

My front sidelights look yellow, can they be improved?

Yes, whilst LED sidelights can give strange results, Halogen sidelights are whiter & brighter

Can I improve my headlamps?

Yes, on cars with normal headlamps, both the dip & full beam bulbs can be uprated. On xenon minis, just the full beam can be uprated.

The single centre reverse light (01-04) on my Mini is very poor, can I make any improvements?

Yes, if you have the clear rear lamp set, a small wiring modification can be made that gives 2 reverse lights & a single centre fog lamp (like 05 spec cars)
